NH Sheep & Wool Festival: May 10- May 11, 2025

The annual NH Sheep & Wool Festival put on by the New Hampshire Sheep and Wool Growers Association (NHSWGA) is this Saturday and Sunday at the Deerfield Fair Grounds! Admission is $10 and is awesome for anyone interested in sheep or wool products. As someone who doesn’t knit or crochet, I always love going to see the sheep, beautiful products vendors have for sale and to attend the lectures and demos to learn more about different topics from lambing to pasture management.

In addition to the lectures and demos that go on during this Mother’s Day event, there are some really cool workshops taking place. There are a couple this year on how to felt a phone case or ornament and another on weaving your own tea towels. There is also a youth sheep show that starts at 9:30am on Saturday May 10! Even if sheep aren’t your thing, it’s a lot of fun to watch and always gets me excited for summer and fair season.

LECTURES & DEMOS:

  • Common Emergencies and How to Prepare – SAT 12pm
  • Your Backyard Natural Dye Garden: Seedlings Through Harvest To Dye Pot – SAT 1pm
  • How To Choose A Personal Project Fleece – SAT 1pm
  • How to Get Started Showing Sheep as an Adult – SUN 11am
  • Better Needle Felting – SUN 12pm
  • Reclaiming Pasture Land – SUN 1pm

These are just a couple of the lectures and demos that will be happening this weekend. To see the full event schedule, clink the link below!

Hope to see you there!
